ALERT: Global Civilization to Collapse in 2012?
You’ve all seen those post-apocalyptic movies where folks who were lucky enough to survive the collapse of civilization are forced to shoot and eat stray cats for dinner (like in ‘The Book of Eli’). I’m really hoping that this type of s**t stays in the movies and never manifests in the real world. If it does however, I can say with absolute certainty that many reading this article simply won’t survive the first few days after the collapse.
2012 is the big doomsday year. According to those who interpret the hidden meanings of the ancient Maya culture, supposedly we’re all going to die next winter when the Mayan long count calendar comes to a dramatic end.
Protests are raging round about the globe. Natural disasters have been increasing in scope and in scale. The international economy is crumbling to pieces. It may just be that calamity the likes of which the world has never seen will grip the hearts of men right around the exact same time in which the Mayan calendar expires.
The good news is that with the ending of this present world system may come an opportunity to build something much better in its place- that is of course once the inevitable s**t storm following the initial collapse subsides. There’s always a glimmer of hope at the end of every tunnel, dontcha know.
Think about all of the fat and lazy zombies out there just festering as the forthcoming societal collapses comes about. These people will not survive. Those who’ve become dependent on grocery stores and cell phones which can flip pan-cakes and zoom in to someone’s bathroom as they take a healthy dump will not survive. Only the intrepid, mighty minded will survive- those who’ve prepared most of their lives for what lies in store for the whole of humanity.
What a grim forecast for global affairs, eh? Everything I’ve stated in this article is so gloomy and depressing- but absolutely, 100% true. The worst part about it all is that our species may just have passed the point of no return wherein it is impossible to repair this broken system on a crash-course to hell.
The very second I begin to see signs of a true apocalypse emerging, I’m heading off to the woods with a few good people with the intent of establishing the last outpost of humanity. The nightmarish world which will follow a social collapse is not the sort of place wherein my progeny belong.
Its a good thing I’m personally prepared for what lies ahead- but are you, dear reader? Have you any weapons to defend yourself? Have you any food and clean water stored away? These are by far the most important elements to possess in terms of preparedness for the end of all things. But aside from my stockpiling of ammunition and canned-goods, I’m also making up a list of my favorite books to bring along with me so as to provide those in my post-apocalyptic community a good source of preserved information from the world in which we came.

I am a big fan of sustainability groups like the Zeitgeist movement which propose a redesigned culture free of waste, hunger, war, and poverty. It is my absolute best hope that a redesign and not a collapse of our civilization is what occurs in the very near future. Sadly however each time I gaze outside of my living room window at the mindless consumers zipping on by in their little capitalist-mobiles (cars), I am hardly reassured of any organizational efforts to get these folks deprogrammed to the point of accepting what would be a better world by a million-fold.
