Bin Laden’s Death Sparks Torture Debate All Over Again

The supposed death of Osama bin Laden has sparked debate once again over the issue of “enhanced interrogation techniques” which rightly means “torture” flat out. The Obama administration is tip-toeing around the subject stating that they won’t “rule out” that it was torture which brought them the info concerning bin Laden’s whereabouts. The establishment, so eager to bring back the Middle Ages rather than a new renaissance for humanity, is arguing that it was torture that secured the vital “intelligence” which led to Osama’s precise location.

Torture is just so old hat that it makes me cringe! I mean really? In the 21st century we’re actually torturing folks? What the hell is wrong with this species?! Of course some will argue and state that the torture of today is nothing like the torture of yesteryear. However, isn’t torture still… torture?

I think all of those in favor of torture should themselves be subjected to the various methods which they endorse. This should be a televised event too. We can strap down Karl Rove, Sean Hannity, Bill O’Reilly… and Barack Obama… and waterboard each of these guys until they’ve soiled their panties. Talk about ratings!

I am convinced that a civilization which still practices torture after having set foot on a neighboring celestial body (our moon for instance) is one that will ultimately destroy itself in the end. I’m actually stockpiling ammo right now because I don’t trust that ours is a culture that will last much longer- and I sure as hell want to be ready to defend myself and my family when the s**t hits the fan!
