George Washington warned us about Social Justice Warriors

George Washington, the venerable first President of the United States, issued a dire warning in regards to the loss of free speech that rings true today now more than ever.

“If the freedom of speech is taken away then dumb and silent we may be led, like sheep to the slaughter.” -George Washington

Washington knew all too well the consequences of repression.

For years, the American colonies lived beneath the rule of the tyrant, King George III. It wasn’t until the Revolution that liberty took root and the blossom of free speech and other cherished rights became cornerstones of American society.

In 2016, the long-term outlook for free speech is not all too good. In college campuses across America, ‘Social Justice Warriors’ threaten the existence of the First Amendment in what has proved a real war against our nation’s founding ideals.

There are some universities which have outright banned certain words and phrases deemed ‘hateful’ or ‘bigoted’ by liberal Democrats and SJWs alike.

At Princeton, the word ‘man’ has been effectively removed from campus due to the traditional, gender connotations such word implies.

Political correctness is killing our culture- and it won’t be until a new American Revolution when our right to free speech is once again cemented into the bedrock of our society.
