Fair Game: Should Occupy Protesters Be Permitted to Fight Police?
In Denver, police offers- in other words, stormtroopers for the corporate world empire- beat, mace, and even shoot Occupy protesters.
My question, on what grounds do police officers feel it a right to attack peaceful protesters who are only exercising their first amendment right?
As a child my father always told me to stick up for myself and to fight back against bullies. I think most kids of my generation were taught this important lesson by their dads. This being said, would it be justified then to label police as bullies who must therefore be fought?
Who are the police? Are cops some kind of external, hyperdimensional creatures from another world with special powers granted to them by the supreme Godhead of the universe? Nay. Strip away their little badges and tax-payer funded weapons and one will realize that police are nothing more than the shaved apes that you and I are.
On the Discovery channel we see countless examples of lions sinking their jaws into prey and bears smiting the faces of their unfortunate victims. Why is it in the human world that such ‘fair game’ simply isn’t allowed?
I think if a police officer feels it a right to attack a protester then he should by all means. On the other hand however, a protester should have an equal right by law to fight back in defense.
Better yet, why don’t the more aggressive officers and the more aggressive protesters just square off in a televised event. Both parties would be allowed to use excessive force and to hurt one another in the most vicious of ways. They could even use Samurai swords and cinder-blocks to attack one another with.
All protests and the parties involved- including the police- should be peaceful in nature. Let the violence oriented migrate away from the actual protests and be allowed to do their thing elsewhere- because in the end, these turds are really just f**king things up for everyone else who only seek a more positive direction for society.
