Have Scientists Finally Discovered “The God Particle”?

“The God Particle” or as it is properly known, the “Higgs Boson” is a theoretical elementary particle that would satisfy many perceived models of how the Universe operates on the quantum (small) level. The very name “God Particle” overstates the importance of the Higgs Boson, but nevertheless, it’s discovery would be as though someone had just completed a grand, cosmic puzzle.

Very recently, a leaked internal memo from CERN, the organization which heads up research with the Large Hadron Collider, was brought into the light and caused much enthusiasm within the Scientific community over whether or not The God Particle was indeed found. CERN has downplayed such speculation however insisting that the supposed discovery made light of in the leaked memo was “probably nothing”.

Our universe is a grand symphony of strings- at least this is the picture painted by string theorists. There are so many mysteries yet to be unlocked and so little time in which to do so. I say so little time because ours is a civilization on the verge of collapse. Unfortunately the best and the brightest among us are too little a force to even nudge the great mindless hordes of barbarians who are destroying the Earth outright. Unless a seemingly miraculous string of events occurs which rends the violent human animal docile for at least a few decades time, then the grim possibility of us blowing each other to bits will more than likely manifest before the year 2020.

Whether or not CERN has determined if the God Particle has indeed been discovered, when it is finally recognized as a physical reality, we shall be one step closer in reading the “mind of God”. Just imagine the exciting possibilities that lie in store for our species if we can only learn to focus collectively on the macrocosmic rather than on our own individual microcosmic existences!
