How the Elite Will Someday Become our Unstoppable Gods

The science has been realized. It is almost possible to transform human beings into gods via the power of technology. Thinkers like Dr. Ray Kurzweil project that an event known as The Singularity is near- a time when man will eventually merge with machine. Whilst the idea is heavily fascinating and would be supremely intriguing to some day witness, I fear that given the current state of human affairs, leaps into the future will only reflect the trends seen today- especially when it comes to the domineering nature inherent in the wealthy few who’ve already claimed god-status over the everyday man even without having been turned into robots.

The species is undoubtedly living in a corrupt time when power has built upon itself a monolithic structure that is seemingly impermeable to forces that would’ve- hundreds of years ago- brought the rich and powerful to their knees. Those who sit high above the social ladder do in fact see themselves as our god-kings. An increase in technological capabilities that will inevitably give rise to the “cyborg-class” is only going to elevate the feeling of supremacy over the common folk.

Scientists are unanimous in their call for man to strip away the biological and to embrace the mechanical. Immortality, as sought by Ray Kurzweil and others, is realistically over the horizon- as are the supernatural abilities normally ascribed to the gods of ancient lure. The problem however lies in the fact that probably only the super-wealthy will be able to afford turning themselves into god-men (and women). With the middle class virtually erased, 1 in 7 Americans now on food-stamps, and mass starvation the world over, it seems that the plan all along has been- through the very existence of money- to subjugate all people everywhere to weaklings who are just clever enough to amass great wealth and thus power through cunning means alone.

I am not an opponent of upgrading the human body through technological means. I’m all for it, actually. I think it would be incredibly (and ridiculously) cool to be able to lift up a stack of cars, shoot lasers from my eyes, and to fly like superman. One thing I wouldn’t want however is for only a few members of the species to be able to do this thus subjugating me to their unstoppable reign of terror. Imagine what it will be like protesting an upgraded, superior version of Bill Gates with mounted laser weapons on his arms and the ability to shoot fire from his mouth! I would be toast. Period. And this is precisely the plan of the ultra-elite.
