Mitt Romney admits America ruled by plutocracy at first 2012 Presidential debate
Grant J. Kidney — It was only the first debate between Mitt Romney and Barack Obama and already, the best sound bites of the entire election have emerged.
Take Romney’s quote for instance that no matter who is elected President in November, wealthy people will remain wholly unaffected- proof enough that there really is no difference between the political parties other than on positions pertaining to minor social issues.
Mitt Romney: “High-income people are doing just fine in this economy. They’ll do fine whether you’re president or I am.” [Read the entire transcript of the first Presidential debate]
It would seem that I’m the only commentator to have picked up on this quote as evidence that America is ruled by a ‘plutocracy’. Its actually surprising in fact to see the Internet quiet on this subject. *Insert cricket chirps here*
A plutocracy is defined as a ‘government by the wealthy’. With millions of dollars pouring in to both Obama’s and Romney’s campaigns from identical corporate and banking sources, is there really any disagreeing with Romney’s quotation above?
With 17,000,000 children starving to death in the United States- and with 50,000,000 Americans collecting food stamps, Romney’s admission of an America ruled by a gaggle of rich people is perhaps the only truthful statement to have ever been uttered from the millionaire’s mouth.
I developed the following graphic almost immediately after catching what Romney had said. Feel free to share it on Facebook and Twitter- a great way of exposing the clowns who rule our lives.
Note: The actual quote was paraphrased to save space on the graphic.
