“NO” To Space but “YES” To War?
Confusing indeed- the United States gets rid of the space shuttle and cuts massive funding to NASA but yet keeps launching expensive war after war which does nothing but prevent human progress and growth.
Man needs to get his priorities straight. If we want to stay on this rock until we annihilate ourselves, then let’s just admit that this is our agenda. But of course it’s not the whole of humanity’s agenda- it’s an agenda that only belongs to a wealthy few who really have no soul to speak of and are thus unaffected by the sheer beauty and attraction posed by the cosmos.
Competition led us into space back when America was competing with Russia. Once we got there, things cooled down a bit between us and we starting working together as friends. Many other nations joined in on the quest to explore space and thus a new era of international friendship and cooperation had begun, only, it was in space and not on the ground. Shame.
There’s so much yet to explore. We’ve only set foot on the moon, mind you. What about Mars? What about some of the distant moons of Jupiter or Saturn? If we could only put the same amount of thinking power into how to develop fast enough spaceships as we do into our tools of war, then we’d truly be somewhere, wouldn’t we?
