Occupy Movement Victory: Banks Stop Charging for Debit Card Purchases
The Occupy movement can now be credited for dropping fees associated with debit card purchases. This is a major victory for the budding, anti-capitalist movement. Future results bearing the same magnitude are destined to be produced as the ‘people’s revolution’ grows almost uncontrollably.
About a month ago, Bank of America began to impose a $5 monthly fee for debit card swipes. It was this author’s opinion that the overtly fascistic move on part of the bank was a ploy to get mo’ money rolling back into the pocket of Warren Buffet who had propped up the failing giant with a $5 billion dollar cash infusion.
Occupy Wall Street has enormous potential to make incredible changes such as the dropping of debit card fees. The pressure imposed upon the overlords of capital by the revolting mobs is certainly a force that the system is unable to reckon with. First debit card fees vanish. Next, who knows what?
Of course we must view the move on part of the banks to drop the aforementioned fees almost as a king throwing to his dogs the table scrappings. You know the bankers are just like, “So what? We get rid of debit card fees- but we’re still laughing all the way to the bank. Hell, we OWN the bank!”
