Ron Paul Slams Obama’s ‘Global Tax’
Grant J. Kidney— Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul has recently come out very strongly against a proposed ‘global tax’ which would no doubt lead directly in to a ‘world government’ scenario.
Gene Sperling, Obama’s director of the National Economic Council, has recently suggested instating a global ‘minimum’ tax so as to block attempts by the rich to store their money away in a so called ‘tax haven’.
The Obama administration would like to convince the public that the sole intent for a global tax is to put an end to monetary corruption. However, any serious analysis of the potentially devastating effects that a global tax would bring offset the administration’s propaganda.
“History shows that any time ‘minimum’ taxes are created, they do not remain minimum. Greedy politicians will eventually increase both the tax rate and the number of people subject to the tax.”, stated a determined Ron Paul. “A global minimum tax will further cripple economic growth, as more money is sucked out of the productive sector to be wasted by politicians and government bureaucrats.”
Ron Paul has championed the notion of sound money since the beginning of his political career. Paul’s support of returning the nation to the gold standard is seen by many as one of the most rational of plans to salvage the wreckage that is the American economy.
“The American people are already struggling under the burden of high taxes, high spending, and outrageous debt. They do not need new taxes imposed on business at the international level”, continues Paul.
If a global tax were implemented, undoubtedly a global governing body would arise so as to regulate and enforce the tax. Its already impossible to petition the United States government of various grievances- imagine what it would be like trying to protest a world government.
Paul further bashes the Obama administration citing its ignorance of economics. “A global minimum tax would logically require some sort of global IRS to ensure the tax was paid, and it would give the government even more excuses to invade our financial privacy.”
Ron Paul has called for his Presidential rivals to join him in denouncing Obama’s global tax initiative. The likelihood however of an establishment puppet following suit with a Ron Paul suggestion is extremely low.
