Tablet Computers and how Greedy Corporations Prey on Gullible Consumers

In the line of work that I do, I was offered to test run an iPad- so here I am typing up this article using the borrowed device. Owning an iPod Touch, I can attest that there is little to no difference whatsoever with the iPad. It’s true- the iPad is merely a glorified iPod Touch. The sinister Apple corporation thinks you’re so stupid so as to buy their larger iPod at such a ridiculous rate.

I sort of feel dirty knowing that I’m even using this iPad in the first place considering that the hands of a child slave were once tinkering with the insides of this highly aggrandized machine. In Asia, workers are forced to sign a waiver stating that they won’t kill themselves due to the poor conditions of the work environment in which they are placed.

I’ve actually discovered so many flaws in terms of hardware and software with the iPad which I’m certain can be said of all the other tablets out there on the market right now. The bad thing is that the gullible, consumer masses overlook these flaws believing that the almighty corporations can do no wrong and will always produce the highest of quality in terms of merchandise.

The Keyboard Con

Let’s start with the first design flaw- and this one’s pretty serious. The keyboard. Folks are expected to be able to type legible sentences on a device which brandishes a touchscreen keyboard that is so difficult to handle. Even prolific typists are forced to ‘chicken-peck’ on these gizmos. At this point I stopped typing on the iPad and reverted to a regular old laptop instead. Of course if you want to use a keyboard with your iPad you have to buy a $70+ Bluetooth keyboard to accommodate this need. Ah huh! Enter the ‘upsell’ technique which all greedy corporations employ so as to maximize their already huge profit base.

What Storage?

And what’s with the lack of storage? My girlfriend has one of those cute little netbooks that packs at least a 160gb hard drive. The iPad however only goes up to 64gb. What a rip off. Apple is more than capable of dropping a 160gb chip in one of their iPads yet they don’t. And don’t get me started over how much Apple charges for hard drive space. An iPad with a measly 16gb costs $500. A 64gb model is almost $200 more! $200 for such a minute jump in storage? Unreal.

Buy a Tab, Be Unproductive!

Wanna use your iPad for work related purposes? Don’t even think about it. I found myself in a bind with the iPad trying to upload a document. It’s actually impossible to upload anything to a website unless you’re talking of uploading pictures to Facebook of you and your friends getting drunk and high at the same time.

My assessment of the iPad and other tablet computers is that they are children’s toys good only for playing children’s games and watching movies on Netflix. Of course the vast majority of the population is concerned only with these two things- so Apple and the others have a pretty large market at their disposal.

Tablets are an assault on the already functional laptop for the exclusive purpose of making money. There isn’t a thing that a tablet can do that a laptop can’t. In fact, as demonstrated above, a laptop is far more productive and already includes an attached keyboard as well as a hell of a lot more storage space.

Tablets reflect the fact that mega corporations are scrambling to find new ways to market old technology to stupid, brain-dead shoppers who’d buy anything shiny and glittery- even if it came directly from someone’s stinky butthole.

Doing Something Right: India to Give Poor People $35 Tablet Computers
Here's some good news for a change. The Indian government will be providing dirt cheap tablet computers to poor people. In the United States, don't expect anything of the sort to ever occur. The truth of the matter is that a tablet computer costs only about a penny to make. For companies like Apple to sell their iPads for $500-$1,000 is just absurd. 'Sides, slave labor is generally ...

With Government Focused on War, Corporations Head Into Outer Space
Its a real shame that my tax dollars have to go into a war machine which blows people up rather than lifting them into space. Our government is way too focused on expansion of the U.S. empire- especially now with recent news of Obama's African conquest. And whilst the government is pinned down deciding how best to annihilate whole populations, private companies are trekking into space. Virgin Galactic ...
