Tea Party Crowd Enjoys Thought of Man Dying with No Health Care?
During the most recent GOP debate, Ron Paul was asked his thoughts on whether a health young thirty year old who chooses not to spend $200-$300 per month on health insurance, should just “die” if ever he became terminally ill. The predominant Tea Party crowd responded almost enthusiastically that yes- the man should die!
Ron Paul is my boy- he dodged this ridiculous question asked of him by moderator Wolf Blitzer quite well. Paul stated that churches and local, volunteer-based services could fill the void of government run health care with the express purpose of helping hypothetical folks in need (such as the aforementioned thirty year old).
I strongly contrast however with the sharp libertarian/Republican point of view which would force those barely capable of providing ends meat to buy ridiculously expensive health insurance. A “techno-anarchist” such as myself would have all the world free from money, labor, war, hunger, and poverty all via the assistance of highly advanced robotic automation processes. Therefore, in the type of world I envision, health care would be a right- just as would be food and shelter. For, truly, all the world and its resources should belong to all people everywhere.
The Tea Party comment concerning the death of a man who couldn’t provide health insurance was stupid on two fronts. First off- and even Wolf Blitzer who initially asked the question should know this- in America, no sick person is ever turned away from a hospital. It doesn’t matter how much money or insurance that person has. Second, only really ignorant, “back-water” hicks would shout in unison over how somebody needed to die.
