Mexico is building its very own southern border wall and plans to kick out all illegal immigrants in transit to the United States, according to a top Mexican newspaper.
The article in question, ‘Yes to the Border Wall … but in Mexico’s South’ appeared in a recent edition of El Mañana, a widely circulated publication in Mexico.
According to the article, the Mexican people have expressed disdain for the violent, illegal entrants into their own country; folks who primarily make their way in from Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras.
The newspaper also praises Donald Trump for his own border wall concept and says if enacted in Mexico’s southern region, it could help to stop the flow of criminal activity in Mexico.
‘Many of these migrants when they are unable to find an honest way of life turn to robberies, kidnappings, extortion, and in the worst cases join the ranks of organized crime,’ El Mañana noted. ‘Trump’s idea of a border wall is a good one but it should be on the southern border with Central America in order to stop the flow of Central Americans from entering both countries’.
The article remarks on the ‘hordes’ of illegal immigrants flooding into Mexico who, when they reach the United States, are deported straight back to Mexico despite not having official residence there.
Mexico has drastically increased its own border security and deportations as of late. Last year alone, 175,000 Central and South Americans were deported by the Mexican government.
It has been speculated that a wall already exists on Mexico’s southern border, but such has been declared factually untrue.
If built, an actual southern border wall in Mexico could help to curb illegal immigration into the United States.
While its true that many illegal entrants into the United States are Mexican nationals, it is also true that a huge percentage also come from various other countries in the Western hemisphere.
Candidate Donald Trump has proposed many ways in which to pay for the proposed border wall between the United States and Mexico. One such proposal involves the use of drug trafficking money seized during arrests.
