VICTORY: U.N. gun treaty not passed, delayed until 2013
Grant J. Kidney — Fortunately for gun owners across America, the U.N. arms treaty was not passed on Friday after a U.S. delegation demanded more time to consider the implications of such a broad-reaching agreement.
The delay was no doubt forced by intense opposition to what would’ve been a piece of ultra draconian legislation. If passed, the U.N. arms treaty would’ve stripped individual Americans of their right to own guns.
The treaty represented a nightmare scenario in that it would’ve laid the ground work for a future, global dictatorship wherein only the oppressive police and military forces would’ve had access to weapons.
Some have suggested that the treaty will be signed at a later point this year. However, a more likely timetable is set for next year.
