War Mongering Senators to Push U.S. One Step Closer to Attack on Iran
Grant J. Kidney— As the U.S. and Israel gear up for total war with the Islamic Republic of Iran, there are some who feel as though we’re simply not doing enough in terms of ‘tough-talk’ and actual, physical action.
A new resolution will soon be introduced in the senate which essentially forces the Obama administration to label potential Iranian nuclear capability a ‘red line’, international offense.
Robert Casey (D-Pa.), Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.) and Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) will present the resolution which “urges the President to reaffirm the unacceptability of an Iran with nuclear-weapons capability and to oppose any policy that would rely on containment as an option in response to the Iranian nuclear threat.”
According to a recent poll, nearly three quarters of Americans oppose a military strike on Iran. For a pack of lying, war-mongering U.S. senators to stand so boldly in the name of new war in the middle east is a clear sign of how unacceptable and illegitimate our government has become.
Senator Lindsey Graham- who is one of the chief architects of the National Defense Authorization Act, a treasonous, anti-human bill which allows the military to detain anyone it wants and to refuse the right to trial- ought to be ashamed of himself for siding so strongly against the American people now twice in recent times.
Considering that Barack Obama has explicitly stated that no option is off the table in terms of war with Iran, the new senate resolution in question won’t necessarily mean much considering that what it attempts to convey, the President already agrees with.
