Will ‘Occupy Wall Street’ Lead to Police State in America?

During the October 5th edition of a popular podcast put out by social change advocacy group, the ‘Zeitgeist Movement’, host Peter Joseph addressed a rather serious issue pertaining to the emergent ‘occupy’ protests- will anti establishment rage lead to a brutal, totalitarian crack down by the state?

Libertarian hero and Presidential candidate Ron Paul has made it known that he’s witnessed a very visible trend in “militarization of the police”. Aside from the Darth Vader looking gear that most police wear today, some agencies like the NYPD are now armed with anti-aircraft weaponry.

Its very true that a rising trend in civil disobedience could go the exact opposite of how many activists intend. While the majority of the Occupy protesters are peaceful, there may be some who will eventually exert violence against the state. Its also very possible that so called “agents of provocateur” may be inspire some of the possible violence that might occur as a means to give government the excuse to restrict our civil liberties and to roll tanks out on to the streets of America.

Infowars.com is reporting that many of the Occupy protesters are repeating White House talking points- proof that perhaps the eatablishment, just as I had predicted, is hijacking the Occupy movement just as this article is being typed.
