Originally built for Xbox, Kodi has become a great choice for home entertainment ever since it opened doors to be used on every device. Kodi is a fantastic program that turns your device (be it a laptop, mobile or monitor) into a system that enables streaming right from the internet. It is an open source program and has no price tag attached to it. If you’re a fan of movies, sports or drama then Kodi will make your life so much easier with its streaming. A cool thing is, you can even install new Kodi add-ons and skins to make it look more interesting.
This program is compatible on a lot of devices including Amazon Fire Stick. So if you have an Amazon Fire Stick and want to know how to install Kodi, then you’ve come to the right place. In this article, I will show you step by step how to install Kodi on your Amazon Firestick (or even Fire TV) and start streaming right away. If that sounds interesting, let’s get started!
Method 1: Kodi on Amazon Firestick
Follow the below mentioned steps to successfully install Kodi on your Fire Stick using the first method.
Step 1: Go to settings and tap on “Device” to begin granting permissions for installation.
Step 2: Once you’re in the “Device” section, you need to tap on “Developer options”.
Step 3: Turn on “Apps from unknown sources”.
Now, a little disclaimer before we move forward: Installing third-party apps can obviously be a little risky with your security. Amazon clearly states that and if you choose to move forward, it’ll be totally at your own risk. Though this method works, I wouldn’t recommend doing it if it’s something you are not ready yet.
Step 4: Now you need to install the “Downloader” app which can be taken from the Amazon app store.
Step 5: Once you’re in the downloader app, put the Kodi Downloader in it. This is not necessary and you can choose to use another source if needed.
Step 6: After that, your fire TV will give you options such as android, windows, Linux etc so you need to choose the “Android” one because Kodi works on it.
Step 7: Select the 32-bit installation and hit install.
Step 8: Now you’re done. You can access it from your Fire TV stick and customize it if you want.
Method2: Install Kodi On Amazon Fire TV
If in case the above method didn’t work for you, you can try out this one. First, you have to download the ES Explorer app.
Step 1: Go to settings and tap on “Devices” and then tap on “Developer options”.
Step 2: Once you’re in, enable the ADB debugging and apps from unknown sources.
Step 3: In the search box of your Fire Stick type in ES Explorer.
Step 4: Click on it and start downloading it.
Now all you need to do is put Kodi on your Fire Stick by using the ES Explorer. Follow the below steps closely for using Windows:
Step 1: Go to settings of your Fire Stick TV, then click System and then click About. Be sure to note down your IP address.
Step 2: After that, you have to download the Adblink from here.
Step 3: Download the Android ARM APK file from here.
Step 4: Open Adblink and tap on “New”.
Step 5: Now you’ll see a little description box. Just write any name on it for reference.
Step 6: In the “Address” box, you need to write your IP address of your Fire TV.
Step 7: Hit “Save” and then connect.
Step 8: Tap on “Install APK” and choose Kodi.
Step 9: Tap on “Open” and then hit confirm.
Step 10: Congrats! Kodi is now installed.
If you use Mac, then follow the below steps:
Step 1: Same as for Windows, go to settings of your Fire Stick TV, then click System and then click About. You have to note down your IP address.
Step 2: Download Adblink for OS X from here.
Step 3: Download the Android ARM APK from here.
Step 4: Now open Adblink on your Mac and tap on where it says “New”.
Step 5: Write Firestick inside the description field.
Step 6: Write your IP address of Fire Stick inside the “Address” field and click “Save”.
Step 7: Select Fire Stick under “Current device” and tap on “Connect”.
Step 8: Hit install and once downloaded, launch it.
Step 9: When all that is done, you can download any of their live TV add ons or Kodi Builds to start streaming.
I highly suggest using a VPN when you’re using Kodi from your Amazon Fire Stick.
That’s a wrap! Nothing beats the experience of streaming on Amazon Fire Stick and Kodi helps you get just that. As mentioned above, it is a great little program for entertainment. That’s it for this article. I hope you enjoyed reading this post. Thanks for stopping by!
