Fix Windows 10 Black Screen With Cursor Error | Different Methods

Some people who are using Windows 10 have reported that they sometimes encounter the windows 10 black screen with cursor issue. Here are some solutions that you may try in order to resolve this problem.

Different Methods to Fix Windows 10 Black Screen With Cursor Error:

1. Switch the Displays by pressing Windows key+P:

For this, you will have to open the Project Menu. For this, you will have to click on Windows key and P key simultaneously. Remember that this menu will open but you will not be able to see it and this is a normal thing. Now press the up and down arrow keys and then press enter. You will find that your screen will appear. It does not appear then you may try the steps again and see if the problem gets resolved.

2. Uninstall the Graphic card driver:

You will have to press Ctrl + Shift + Esc or Ctrl + Alt + Del. This will take you to the Task Manager option. Now here you have to start the device manager. For this, you have to click on File and then you need to click Run New Task. Next, you will have to press devmgmt.msc. Now press enter in order to run this command.

In case the task manager is not very fast then you will have to go to the Safe mode. In windows 10 you can enter the Boot option, after a few restarts. In the Boot option, you have to choose Troubleshoot. Here you will have to choose Advanced options and then you have to select Startup settings. The computer will restart and a list of options will appear. Here you have to select the option of Safe mode.

Now press Windows key and the X key together. You will get a list. From this select device manager. Here you will have to search for your graphic card. Now right click on the graphic card and then choose to uninstall. You must click on the option of Delete driver software of this device. Once the driver has been uninstalled you will have to restart the computer. Now check if the black screen problem has been resolved.

3. Disabling the onboard graphics:

Sometimes the onboard graphics will have to be disabled. For this, you will have to enter the Safe mode. In windows 10 you can enter the Boot option after a few restarts. In the Boot option, you have to choose Troubleshoot. Here you will have to choose Advanced options and then you have to select Startup settings. The computer will restart and a list of options will appear. Here you have to select the option of Safe mode.

You will have to Boot your computer. When the computer boots you will have to access BIOS. This can be done by pressing F2 or the DEL key. It must be noted that which key needs to be pressed will vary from computer to computer. Now BIOS will start. Here you will have to search for CPU graphics function or Dual monitor function. Once you locate it you will have to disable the same. Now restart the computer and check if the problem is resolved. 5. Connect monitor with both the cables or with the additional monitor:

Some monitors will have two connectors like DVI and HDMI. You will have to connect the monitor using both DVI and HDMI cables. Once this is complete then you can start the computer and then you can check if the same has been resolved. In case you have a second monitor then you can connect this monitor to your PC. Now start the computer and check if the problem is resolved.

6. Update the BIOS:

Sometimes updating the BIOS can help in resolving the issue. But hang on! This is an advanced option and you need to have proper technical knowledge. If you do this wrongly then you might end up damaging the computer permanently. So though here we have mentioned how you can update the BIOS you must try this option only if you are technically sound.

You will first have to go to the website of your motherboard manufacturer. Now here you will have to download the latest version of BIOS of your motherboard. Normally there will be an instruction manual which will tell you how you can update the BIOS of your computer. 7. Uninstall applications that are causing the problem:

Certain applications can also be the cause of this problem. Certain antivirus solutions, third party firewall, iCloud, VPN etc can be the reason for the problem. In that case, it is better to uninstall the applications that are causing the problem.

For this, you will have to enter the task manager by pressing Ctrl + Shift + Esc. Here you have to click on File and then choose Run New Task. Now here you have to type appwiz.cpl and then press enter. Here you will get the Window of Programs and Features. Here you will have to choose the applications that are causing the problem and you will have to uninstall those applications. Now restart the computer and check if the problem is resolved.
