Steps For Windows 10 Upgrade – Installation Method

Here is a guide that will help you in the steps that are involved for completing Windows 10 upgrade for free.

Step 1:

You will first have to find the copy of your Windows 7 or 8 or 8.1. The reason for this is that you will need the product key in order to complete the process. Now there are chances that you do not have this key. Not to worry! There are chances that the key may be present on your system. Some free tools can be used to extract this key.

Step 2:

Now before you begin the process of upgrading you must take a back up of all the data on the PC. You must take this measure in order to avoid any loss of data at the time of upgrading the Windows version.

Step 3:

Next, you will have to create a Windows 10 installer. For this, you will have to go to the Microsoft website. You can follow the link https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10ISO/. Here you have to follow the instructions that are mentioned on the page.

On this page, you will be prompted to select the edition. Here you will have to select the Windows 10 version. You will have to also select the product language. In case you do not know which language you are currently using you can check the same from the control panel of your PC. If you plan to use the DVD then you will have to use ISO file and if you plan to use a USB device then choose USB flash drive. You will also have to select 32 or 64-bit version for the Windows.

Step 4:

Now you have to insert the installation media. Next, you need to restart the PC. Once you have restarted the PC you have to click the F2 button. This is done in order to create the boot priority. Due to this the DVD or the USB flash drive will be allowed to run before booting into the operating system of the PC. Keep in mind that you have to select the DVD that is before HDD or SDD. It must be noted that this step will depend on the BIOS setup of the PC and it will be slightly different for different PC’s.

Step 5:

Once you have completed the above step you will have to reboot your PC once again. Restart your computer once again.

Step 6:

Now you will be prompted to enter the product key. Here you will have to enter the key that you had recovered in the earlier step. Now click on the Next tab. Continue the steps to complete the process.
